Discover the Luxury and Tranquility at Hartmann House

Welcome to Hartmann House, an artisans cottage set in the middle of an acre of beautiful gardens with lily ponds overlooking Sooke Harbour. We are located just 35 minutes from the city of Victoria on the westcoast of Vancouver Island. The city is easy to access yet one can also experience luxury and tranquility of this beautiful retreat.

Hartmann House is a Sooke Bed and Breakfast which offers two well appointed self contained suites with private entrances, handcarved king size beds, wood burning fireplaces, whirlpool tubs and kitchenettes. A full multi course gourmet breakfast is delivered to each guest suite daily and includes seasonal fruits and vegetables, herbs and flowers from our gardens.

We have been featured in Best Places to Kiss in the Northwest, Northwest Best Places, Sunset magazine, Better Homes and Gardens and Voted the 4th favourite B&B in Canada by North American Inns magazine.

The local and surrounding area offers both fine dining and casual restaurants from Sooke Harbour House and Markus Wharfside to the historic 17 mile pub.

Sooke offers many hiking trails, beaches to roam, kayaking and golfing in the local area. The artists work out of their own studios and are open to the public. Whale watching, wild life tours, fishing and biking on the nearby galloping goose trail are enjoyed by our guests and open most of the year. For health and relaxation the Sooke spa offers massage for individuals or couples.

A must see is Butchart Gardens which is a 45 minutes drive from Hartmann House. The city of Victoria, a 35 minute drive has extensive exhibits at the Royal British Columbia Museum and lots of shopping, restaurants and antique stores.
